Second, Apple does not permit the installation of macOS on non Apple hardware, which is the only use for using Clover it is a violation of the EULA and copyright.

First off all, installing Clover on 'real' Mac will likely result in a non bootable machine, requiring a complete reformat of the drive. It is for use with 'hackintosh' machines, non Apple hardware that is rigged to boot macOS. I don't see it more an issue than if installing a ZFS filesystem on your drive, even though Apple wouldn't want you to do so. )īut after all, provided you put a disclaimer for the non savvy, why not put it here? It's related to MacOS, it's not piracy, it doesn't modify the OS. I was indeed surprised to find it here for 2 reasons: one is because of course it's meant in the first place for the hackintosh scene - but again, some people might find it interesting to have a different bootloader to boot Windows or Linux on their Mac (I haven't tried it myself.) - and two because I think the people who need it already know what to do with it and where to find it.

On the other hand, I agree with Mcr about the need for a disclaimer, just in case some kamikaze would try and install it on a real Mac without knowing what they're doing! :-D I don't think this is the place for a debate about wether or not it's legit to use Clover on real Macs (some people do) or hackintoshes, but what Clover does it does it well.
